1989 Honda TRX350D
I own a 1989 Honda TRX350D that I just replaced the cam chain and upper sproket and the piston rings on. The timing has been set by the factory service manual instructions. The motor runs but sprays gasoline out of the carb intake (the more it revs up, the more spray). I have completely cleaned and adjusted the carb according to the manual, as well. Anyone have any ideas?

My WAG; your cam timing is off.
To cause a reversion like your describing the intake valve has to be open when the piston is coming up. For that to happen your cam timing has to be off.
Without being there, that's my best guess.
One thing you might do is a compression test. Compression will be down a tad if the cam timing is off.

First thing you need to do is double check the timing marks.
They should come out correctly / the book.
You cam is late in relationship to the piston. In other words when the piston is going down in the bore for the intake stroke, when it gets to BDC the intake valve is still open and the piston is going up for the compression stroke and it is blowing out the intake valve.
So as you can see, you need to advance the cam to get it to close the intake valve earlier.
