If you have a Batteries Plus store near you they carry all atv batteries or I think Sams Club and Checkers carries them also . I bought a recon battery at batteries plus it was there best battery for $65 . My 98 foreman s still has original battery . Maybe you have a short somewhere. Happy trails.

You have to be careful with those garden tractor batteries though.I read an article somewhere about OEM batteries and how they are more durable in off road conditions than aftermarket ones. The lead plates in the cheaper aftermarket batteries can't hold up to the bumps and their lead plates tend to seperate after a shorter time than an OEM battery. So then you end up having to buy two batteries in the time that you would only have to buy one OEM one.Buy the OEM one and forget it.

I recently replaced both batteries for a 94 300EX and a TRX300. I checked batteries plus and they were more expensive then my local Honda dealer. I paid 59.00 each from Honda for the OE battery. I was very pleased. Whether or not my battery is the same as the one you need I can't say. Are they installing it for you? I would bet if they are there's a labor fee associated with it.

Greetings,
If you have a 99 450ES you might want to check into the cause of the dead battery. If you haven't had it checked under the recal notice, you might want to look into the battery drain issue. It killed mine (and damn near killed me pull starting it through the winter). Seems like a battery should last longer than yours.

I did get the recall done, the honda shop is calling the problem a "bad battery" I am assuming they ran a diag test on the battery itself to see if it holds a charge....but I will make sure. I know about pull starting those suckers...my right arm still hurts! talk about compression.
thanks guys

bnt5-- Be sure to check your battery connections, BOTH of them. I have a 2k 450-S, and both the connections at the batt. were loose. The bike did some REAL strange things until I found that!!
I would be glad to tell you how to perform a simple batt. drain test, with a $2.00 test lamp, if you email me. Later, Mike. PS- Battery specilists can find a cheap batt. by taking the dimensions off of your old batt. and cross referencing in their catalogues.
