Just for reference, I had my foreman 450 motor totally dissassmebled and reassembled at the dealer so they could install a new final output shaft and rear case (both of which I supplied with used parts). They charged me ~$400 in total which was 4 hours labor at $63 and all new seals throughout the engine. Canadain $$$ So factor a similar price into the purchase cost of this bike to see if its a good deal or not.

This above price was with me removing teh motor from the bike, and reinstalling it myself.

Once again....we see Turbo the king of obfuscation.....unable to offer any practical advice himself, so he has to throw out a bunch of questions about hypothetical situations to sidetrack any userful progress toward solving the original posters problem!

Overfilling oil will blow seals. That is just common knowledge that nobody has to justify........

As usual, Recon will not say what seal can blow or why in a open vented wet sump system.

Just following the train of logic here....bottom line is, sellers will tend to omit things that might be off if they can get away with it, because they have a vested interest in making a sale. So, when a seller tells you right up front something is wrong, you can be 100% sure it is the real deal!
