Buy now, explain to the wife later lol. Pick up some flowers for her on the way home from the dealer or something to reduce the shell shock of your new purchase. A new 400ex for $3,300 is a steal!!! It should be no more than $4,100 OTD.

I used this approach last week. I told her I would need a new one later next year for sure and at that time I would be getting a well used one for the same price I could get a new one now. NTM this one would have a warrenty. women love to hear that becouse they think all we do is tear things up. So with the warrenty would be money ahead if something goes wrong. Just keep talking b/s until you either confuse... er convince them, or they just give up and say whatever. Whatever is just as good as a "yes" anytime.

Don't let them feed you that crap about setup fee either. I used to work for Honda back in my younger days an the dealer is already getting the setup pd for by honda. That setup fee is just a big lie. Paper work should be free also, that is figured into the overhead when they start the business up. If they just insist on paperwork fee, I wouldn't go a nickel over $50

When I looked at it two weeks ago they said the only addtional costs would be 8.5% sales tax and the $199 doc fee. So if they are asking $3,299, the OTD cost s/b 3,299 + 280.42 + 199 = $3,778.42 OTD, worse case sceniaro assuming they won't budge off the $3,299 price. However, I suspect they would take even less....

I went back today on my lunch hour (this is only the second time I have been there). I told the sales guy to call me when they would take $3K OTD for it. I gave him my cell #, so we will see what happens. I bet they will call within a day or so with an offer thats only ~$100 less that what they want now. I may just wait them out - or maybe not all all. A local guy has a sweet '03 raptor 660 for $3K, which inlcudes a trailer, which I don't need. I bet he would take $2500 for just the raptor...

I dont know man.. Looking at a 6 yr old bike that has had who knows what done to it, when for a little more coin you can get a new bike with a warrenty. I htink your letting this one get away. If I was in the market I think I would jump on it.

If your looking to do trail riding. You wont be happy with the raptor. You will be more happy with the 400.I have a 400 and my buddy has a 660r and i can smoke him in the trails.Yeah he has more power and a faster top end.But mine in lighter and handles alot better. For a extra couple hundred go with the new 400 and get the warrentys. You will be alot happier.

Get the 400ex, they handle great on the trails. and it is bulletproof, it will last for ever. Plus you will have a warrenty. Its a Honda so you know that it will be only the best.
