You should used the search option on this site,first,the ES problems and fixes has been posted to death, infact the Moderator should just put a sticky from one of "Honda Mechanics" past es post so he does not have to type it out a hundred times a month.

Here are a few seach results but there are more. http://forums.atvconnection.com/sear...earchid=264302

We've changed only a few ECU's on 1998-01 Foremans , and only 1-2 were changed for ESP problems ..
The gear position switch displays " R , N , 1 , 5 " the ECU displays " 2 , 3 , 4 " but only with the engine running , it will display == with the engine off ...

The dealer told you the ECU was bad and that didn't fix it .. ? .. Was the bike still at the dealer when the ECU was installed .. ? .. If it was at the dealer then they should refund the ECU price ..

Does that dealer not send mechanics to the Honda service schools .. ? .. Honda recommends a couple of home made tools when testing 1998-01 Foremans ..
