I bought a Honda Fourtrax 200 bike, the Previous owner( family) said it woudl run fine, but needed the carb cleaned out.. he said the battery was 2 year old, but held a charge this spring... i cant get the starter to hit, or anything to come on ... no netural/reverse light, no headlight, starter wont even click.... where do i go from here... it has a pull start, but i dont know where everytong needs to be...

the ignition switch was broke and he put a toggle switch on it.. it may need replaced to pull start... i have the run switch where it needs to be.. and its in netural... should it start...???


i know i have no clue on these, other than i know they are good motors.. and thats the only reason i bought it, as it has no plastic..

 

where do the switches need to be to start??? does the clutch or brake have to be depressed...

 

The ignition must be on and the bike in neutral .. The neutral switch has to work for the electric start to work ..

If there are no lights at all then either the toggle switch is wired wrong or battery is dead/low and may need re-charge...

ok, i will check it out... the battery didnt want to charge on my charger, so i hooked it up , and tried to jump it, but the lights still wouldnt come on.....

ill take a look...

 

so i got it started with the pull rope.. but i cant get the elec. starter to engage..... i hooked up a jumper box, as the battery needs help, and it wouldnt even click... no headlights or nothing.. any ideas??> i checked the 15 amp fuse, but im not shure what else is in that box...

any ideas??

got it runnin, it runs good, shifts fine, headlights and netural/revers lights work.. now for the starter and battery... the starter doesnt want to turn over.. and the engine is putting out 10 volts when its at ilde... is that right???
