I have been looking into possibly trading or selling my 99' yamaha Beartracker 250 for mabe a used 300ex or something else because,i want to be able to probably some jumping, some muddin' etc.for one thing some of my cousins friends have like a honda fourtrax 300,a couple of king quads, recons etc.and i want to still be able to ride where ever they go.Any suggestions are helpful! The thing is it could probably only be around 2400-2500 or so $ so i don't think the wolverine is possible to get.THANKS!

Greetings,

Mudding and jumping are kind of at the two ends of the spectrum. The Wolverine may be the best fit, but given your budget, you'll have to go used -- maybe very used. The Recon might be the best compromise. While it won't stay with a King Quad in the mud, its not as slippery as a sport model. And people have been known to jump them. A Trail Blazer could also work well for you.

Might be best to step back and think through what you really want to do with it and reach a clearer definition of requirements. Then check the prices and availability in the used market.
