i have a 2003 and its awesome i decked it out for racing and i do real well. i would be the best if it wasn't for the drive shaft. you are only going to get so much power out of a machine when its shaft driven. i recommend putting in a dynojet kit, K&N filter and HMF pipe on it. you will notice a huge differents. when i got mine it was stock and was only able to pull wheelies up to third and now i can in fourth with all the additives. even with all these performance parts it has great bottom end torque and power in 1st through 3rd gear but it seems like it could still use some more power in 4th and 5th. its a great machine and there is not many negatives to it except the rear drum break, the low power in the higher gears, and because i race it is tipsy on corners. i spaced out the tires 5 inches (2.5 inches on each tire) and its a lot more stable. i jump mine all the time and the spacers hold up. last, tires are a factor. if you are looking for faster acceleration you might want to go down in size. but if you are looking for top end get a bigger tire. its all simple physics. the bigger the tire a little mroe top end and the smaller the faster you accelerate.
