Just wondering if anyone has had there ATV to hesitate going from first into second gear -- mine does this when going up hill in a hard pull and makes a sound like its jumping teeth and you have to let off the throttle because it sounds like the transmission is coming apart. It's done this several times, I've had no problems as long as I shift and then hesitate accelerating. No problems at all on flat land. Any ideas on a standard shift ATV???

 

i always let off the gas when shifting, all gears, both manual shift 4 wheelers. you shift and just keep the gas on?

 

I have never held the gas on while shifting my manual shift atv, I shift just like you mentioned . Its just while its in a strain when pulling up a hill from a dead start, especially while doubling. I just wondered if someone else has had the same problem.
