Default 300EX Exhaust...FMF HMF Or White Bros.

Needing a performance exhaust for my sons 300EX. Are the FMF PowerCore 4 good? I have heard the HMF's are loud but give good power gains. It already has K&N filter. Is a full exhaust system worth the extra $$ over a slip on? Want to keep it under $300.

HMF!!!!! i have nothing but great things to say about the HMF pipes. on my kodiak the slip-on gave me so much more lowend tourqe its not even funny. and on both the kodiak and the LTZ the HMF's sound mean!!

you won't get a full system from anyone for under $300.

Ran a Supertrapp/White Brothers on my EX for several years, never gave me any problems.

Have had an HMF Utility Series on my Vinson for over 5 years now, never a problem...but definitely get a "Quiet Core" insert to keep from being "THAT GUY"...you know, the jackass who runs a ridiculously loud exhaust and who eventually causes riding areas to be closed.

The stock header is pathetic! The FMF PC4 comes as a full system, with a free flowing header....excellent deal!

Ebay has NEW full complete FMF Powercore 4 systems for 249.00 shipped. Muzzy slip on and mid pipe for 139.00. I've heard many say the HMF's are good but loud.

WOW...do I stand corrected...$249 for a full exhaust system is a smokin' deal, but does the FMF Powercore 4 have the same problem as the HMF without the "quiet Core"? In other words, is it friggin' loud?

Yes, HMF is very loud without the "Quiet Core" insert

Even better, I found an ebay ad for the full system for $225.00 with free shipping. That is a hell of a lot less than what I paid for my supertrapp system more than a decade ago

FMF POWERCORE 4 FULL EXHAUST HONDA 250X 300EX 300 EX : eBay Motors (item 270456612596 end time Feb-11-10 15:12:42 PST)

Yep. Thats the one I was talkn about. Comes with 3 different inserts and has to be better than the choked down stock pipe. I've bought loads of parts and last 4 atv's were bought within 200 mile radious of home off Ebay. Hav'nt been burned yet.
