I just bought brand new a 2wd ES Rancher on Saturday. As soon as I unloaded it, I noticed that the only thing that worked on the display was the clock and the hourmeter. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, in about 20 minutes of riding, it got stuck on 4th or 5th gear 4 times! I had to shut it off each time to get it back to neutral. Is this something that happens alot with the ES? I asked the dealer about both recalls and was told mine was new enough that everything was taken care of at the factory. Did the dealer just do a poor job in setting up my Rancher or did I get a lemon? I think they may have known something was wrong with the display when we loaded it up, by the way they were acting. I never had a problem out of my Recon. Should I let them try to fix it, demand a new one or just take it back? Thanks.

Take it back to the dealer immidiately. I've heard of this happening before, but it seems pretty rare.

That's defiantly not a common problem that I have heard of. It's probably something as simple as a lose plug in your wiring. I would take it back to another dealer immediately get it fixed under warranty. And then never go back to the dealer that sold it to you again. If they sold you a machine after charging you set up fee and it was not running right its obvious they can't be trusted. I would also call that dealership ask for the general manager and chew some butt and let him know you will never buy a thing from them again.

It sounds like one of the connections might be loose on the display. Take it to the dealer & have them fix it. I haven't heard about the display problem before.
