you're not going to find aftermarket gas shocks for $150, Red...
Wahl, this question has a little more to it than you realize.
Are your 250R's shocks the originals? if so they have to be clapped out by now (after 23 years), so almost anything will be an improvement. I never had stock shocks on my 250R, so I don't know if the stockers are junk, even when they're new
The 450 had various and rapid stages of development, including it's shocks, so better or best is going to be a matter of relativity to your 250 shocks
Short answer here is...if they will fit your bike and you can get them for $150 and they aren't beat to heck, then it will be an improvement
