i have an 87 250r. i want to know if its worth it to spend like $150 on 450r shock for my 250r currently has stock shocks.

also what 450r shocks are they best

 

i,d go with aftermarket gas shocks they have adjusters on them to stiffin or soften your ride

Wahl, this question has a little more to it than you realize.

Are your 250R's shocks the originals? if so they have to be clapped out by now (after 23 years), so almost anything will be an improvement. I never had stock shocks on my 250R, so I don't know if the stockers are junk, even when they're new

The 450 had various and rapid stages of development, including it's shocks, so better or best is going to be a matter of relativity to your 250 shocks

Short answer here is...if they will fit your bike and you can get them for $150 and they aren't beat to heck, then it will be an improvement

to be honest there is no cheap way to buy after market shocks.i,m in the same boat i had to buy used stock shocks.i got them off ebay had to pay like 125 for all 3 of them.

 

what about 400ex shocks?

 

measure them if they are the same size i would say use them
