Default 87 Honda TRX250X interchangeable Parts

Hello All,
Just picked up a 87 Honda TRX250X and its missing the rear brake setup and I am having a hard time locating the parts on EBAY under TRX250X. Does anyone know what other alternatives I have? Is the rear brakes setup used on a different ATVs or maybe even one of the Honda dirt bikes?

Thank
Ryan

No,..part numbers will not always be the same because Honda changes part numbers on an item every time a different maker is building them for Honda. Or any time they change the shade of color paint. Or any time that they change any little thing...which doesnt have to play a role in fitment. Meaning different vendors for Honda make them, but they are still the same part.
Remember, Honda and other OEMs do not make their own brake components,..other companies do it for them and that's why brake parts switch so often between brands and models.

Rear brake lines and rear brake master cylinders will have to come off of an 87-92 250X or 93-09 300EX.

As for the caliper, your options are pretty much endless.
Not just Hondas either but several Yamahas and Kawasakis use the same caliper as the 250X...you just have to have the correct bracket.

If you dont have the 250X caliper bracket you have to use a 87-92 250X or 93-09 300Ex rear caliper and be sure it has the mounting bracket on it. (And I'm not talking about the bracket that attaches to the axle assembly...that's another bracket altogether).

If you already have the 250X bracket, an ATC200X, ATC350X, or any model 400EX rear caliper will work...along with dozens of other brand ATVs. A trip to a local ATV salvage yard should turn up something you can use if you have one. If not, try ebay.

Unless you actually need a stator, I would be looking at the later 250s for a wiring loom etc. New 250s have a surprising similarity to 1980s stuff in that respect. I don't know the X but if it has a two wires to regulator stator and AC ignition, most of it will be the same electrically as later 250s. Though the position of components may differ totally which could give a few problems.
