Lighting coil for Fourtrax 70
#1
I have a Honda Fourtrax 70 that my kids ride. It runs great, but I really wish it had a headlight. Does anyone know of a good lighting coil kit made for 4 stroke bikes that have no factory lighting? I thought someone made a kit 15 years ago but I can't find them now.
More likely (and cheap), I am thinking of robbing the lighting coil and regulator from another bike or ATV. What would be a good model to use? I'm thinking a 4-stroke would be a good choice, because the RPM and torque band would be similar. Maybe an XR 200? How about a DS 80? Both of these bikes came with lights but no battery. A friend of mine has a salvage yard so parts are readily available.
I'm not at all afraid of doing something like this from the ground up. I spend almost as much time working on my toys as riding them. Suggestions are welcome.
