Will a trx 400 be able to handle my wife and I riding together I weigh in at around 190 and she at around 145. What do you think, no major trails. We will ride some trails but nothing major.....

 

The 400ex has plenty of power to cart you and your wife around. however i dont really reccomend it. i carried about the same weight as you described for one evening and i had to replace my rear bearings after a couple hour ride. we only went up the road, and on an easy trail. it also makes the front end very light. i definately do not recommend riding double on this sport machine, or any of them for that matter. if it was a 4x4 i would say for for it...

 

do you mean a trx400 from the 90's, as in a foreman 400, a mid-2000's rancher 400, or do you mean a 400x / ex, as in the sport quad?

 

If it's an EX I'd say you can. Me and mine rode all over the place on mine. It's not the safest thing to do but, we had fun and played it safe. I way about 30lbs more than you and she about 20 less than her.

 

just be real sensetive with the throttle, it jumps up alot easier with someone on the back.

 

I ended up getting an 06 KFX 400..... It will ride the both of us but I have to be careful.....

 

1 - How many seats does it have?
2 - Did you ever consider buying her one?

I will apologize in advance if these comments seem offensive. Just was trying to make you think about the safety aspect since most of the comments mention the risk involved.
