rev limiter i had one and it did the same and most all hondas do that when its in reverse to keep you form backing up to fast. or i have seen that when you can start it in gear by pulling the back brake leaver it will be real bad try to push out on your brake to see if that will help you still cant get rid of the rev limiter tho some times id like to but most the time y would i back up any faster

I agree this is the rev limiter kicking in sometimes you can find a aftermarket CDI that will help this problem but again why do you need to go any faster in reverse?

Bypassing the reverse rev limiter with a double throw single pole switch is a pretty popular modification on the Rincon.

I haven't done mine, but when you get hung up good in the goo I could see where it might be handy.

Question

or is there a sensor that is not working right causing the rev limiter from working correctly
