Id like to thank everyone for thier suggestions. It is appreciated. What I ended up doing was attaching a cigarette lighter adapter to the wire that activates the solonoid. That way I didnt have to mess with splicing into any wires and I just plug it in when I need it. I saw this idea on the atv zone website. I used it today and it works great.

I did the same and it sure beats butchering a waterproof factory wiring harness. It is also kid proof this way and besides I didn't like the fact that when it is hard wired in or wired through the ignition switch the solenoid would always be energized, even when I wasn't using the winch. This method is simple, easy, effective and foolproof.
