Default Quad tired is leaking on the bead

I just got brand new tires put on my quad and one of those little nubby things that are always on new tires got stuck in the bead, so i deflated the tire and pushed the tire down with a screw driver and got it out but when i used the screw driver i think i scratched the rim or something because it is still leaking out air. What is an easy cheap way to fix this?

when you say "pushed the tire down", did you break the bead so you could get a good inspection of the bead face? break the bead away from the rim and thoroughly inspect both bead faces(tire/rim). see what you got, exactly, and we'll go from there. well, i've done some checking on the subject. one website claims to break the bead down use silicone on bead face, reset the bead and use 2 psig of air on tire until silicone sets up. i don't know about that. another website said use a ratchet style strap around your tire, longitudinally, or would that be axially?(along the "equator" of the tire) oh well, then air it up and force the bead down into the face, soapy water will help slick up the surfaces and clean it as well. good luck. just inspect it real good to see if the rim is bent or scarred and see if the tire bead is scarred. good luck.

Try putting 20 psi in the tire then deflate to your 5 psi operating pressure, to set the bead, if all else fails put some slime in the tire.

With tires, deflate it, knock the bead back off then soap and water it real good and set it again. The soapy water will clean it and when dried with the bead set on it will provide a seal. I use to work at a tire shop when I was a kid and thats how we did all of em from lawn tractors to them redneck trucks with the 44's.

Also, if you scratched the rim, buff it back smooth. If there's rubber flashing on the tire's bead, carefully remove that too.

Yea, I missed that. If you can't buff, hit it with at least 600 sandpaper, that'll do it. Just make sure it is really clean when you set the bead and make sure it is wet for the seal.
