Default 4 1/2 years later...Im back. LOL..need help with Recon Brakes

Ok, so its been a while since I signed in. Good to see old faces.

So I need some help. Bought my son a '06 recon for his birthday.

I have spent the last 3 hours reading up on the front brake issue with the recon. But there doesn't seem to be any clear cut answer as to why the front brake lever has no resistance.

I haven't dug into the brakes yet. But I am concerned after reading about this 'problem'. What do I need to look at to find the problem? Is it;

1. Needs adjustment
2. Needs new pads
or
3. steel brake lines

Anyone with any advice would be greatly appreciated.

And its good to see everyone again.

Problem could be in the master cylinder itself. Bad seals maybe. Seen it happen on Honda motorcycles.
Either that or leaking wheel cylinders.

Air in the system would show up as a spongy feeling when the handle is pulled in. Even then there should be some resistance in the lever.

Might be no resistance on lever if the shoes are totally blown out.. Take the drums off and see if the shoes are moving at all when you squeeze the lever..Ive fixed honda brakes alot it usually something easy to fix..Make sure after you get it fixed to grease the hell out of the brake drum seal to keep the water and crap out..
