Default Rincon vs Grizzly

Hi guys, new to the forum, looks like a lot of good info. here. I got a question, I'm shopping for a new (leftover) atv and right now its the 2009 Grizzly vs. the 2010 Rincon. The Grizzly does come with power steering and is also $100 cheaper. I've had a Honda 500 foreman for a few years with no problems, my dads had a Kodiak 400 for 10 years with no problem. Any suggestions? I use it mostly for ice fishing and hunting, not too much of a trail rider. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Posted this under Yamaha also, kinda looking for pros/cons

Honda makes a good machine IMO Both are pretty reliable. But if I had a choice of the two. Grizzly all the way! Test ride each of them and see what you like. 10 years ago I wouldn't suggest anything but honda, but as of lately honda seems behind the times compared to the other choices out there. One of my buddy's has a grizzly and the other a rubicon which I've ridden both and grizzly wins hands down at nearly everything. (Sorry Honda guys) Just my 2 cents.

They are both reliable ..I would give an edge to the honda in reliability...The grizz has a true locking front end which is nice for I would say mud bogging and rock crawling..The Rincon rides and handles a 100 times better than a grizz..

If the places you go require you so go really slow or alot of technical drivin the Rincon isnt as good it's geared for trail riding the first gear is rather tall..but after you get used to it it's like anything else you adapt.

If your blasting along the ice or driving on abandoned roads and fields to get to your hunting spot they are both good..

Only thing I don't like about the grizzly which isnt that big a deal anymore is the belt drive they are pretty reliable..but I bought a Honda so I wouldnt have to even think about that stuff..

i think if you aren't trail riding (rincon designed for that), go for the griz. test ride both and good luck!

The Rincon has IMHO about the best suspension and handling you are going to find on an IRS 4x4. It really sucks up rough trail at speed, without being wallowy or having a lot of body roll on fast sweepers and off-camber stuff.

It is high geared, but I've used mine to pull stumps and stuff like that. The torque converter seems to compensate fine for pulling.

It's going down hill that you will find compression braking starts at about 6 mph, and a steep hill will have you doing like 12 without the brakes, where a Foreman or Rubicon could hold 2-3 mph on engine hold back.

The Griz to me doesn't have the polished engineering feel that the Honda has, or the handling. On the other hand, it has power steering, low range, and a manual locker. It is CVT belt, but has centrifugal clutch/sprag system...

I like Hondas, but if I had to make the purchase again I'd be on the fence. Both are pretty decent quads.
