When I had a problem with my AC and my dealer was giving me a run-around. I called AC up in northern MN. I asked to talk with someone that knew what was going on. The first 3 people i talked 2 didnt know a thing about the Cats. They where dumber then a box of rocks, and all 3 hung up on me. So I called back and demanded to talk to a manger that could help me, and they hung up on me agian and agian. The 5th time I called they told me to talk to my dealer and i told them that, they have been giving me a run around. I then got to talk to a Rep that knew his head from his butt. I told them the treatment that has ben giving to me from your staff, he said a few people where on there last chance and he will review the tapes. He had to go to lunch and would call me in the next 30min. I though that he would never call me back. Well he did in like 28 mins. I told him what is going on and he said that they have had a few other problems with this dealership. He said they will fix my AC and promised that they would never dick with me again. Moral of story, keep calling and something will happen.
Thanks

Hey guys, did anyone finally get a phone number that got any response? If you did, what is it? I'm sure there are other people that need information like that(myself) and would like to put it in the back of the manual themselves for future reference.......... especially if I'm going to have to deal with the extended warranty & nagging problems I'm having.

thanks

I called honda abut the extended warranty program today and told them about the problems I had seen people have on the internet chat rooms. I ask how problems were to be resolved if the dealer did not help or if they kept the bike for a long period (6 weeks or 6 months etc). I was told that the dealers are independently owned and Honda can't do anything with them. I am now considering if I should keep My Rubicon or sell it before the 6 month warranty runs out, I have had my bike for about three months and have had no problems with it at all. This is the second Rubicon I have had. The first one had electrical problems which they did not find after several weeks and four or five trips back to the shop. My dealer let me trade it back in on the new one I have now. I did haveto pay for the registration and shipping which was about $145.00. I did appreciate my dealer letting me do this as I had lost all faith in the first one. I know it may be assinine on my part but I don't like being bothered by things I own. After reading the problems some have had with their dealer I am now wondering whether I should get the extended warranty or sell the bike before I have prolems with it. Don't get me wrong I love the Rubicon or I would have gotten another brand when I traded it in as my dealer sells most other brands also. Anyway they gave me the number to customer relations which is 310-532-9811. I would appreciate knowing the outcome after you talk to them as I may or may not keep mine depending on how they treat you. Hope this helps.

Guys, I realize that you two (JRM & RubiconLand) are pretty beaten up with your ATV problems, but they still sound primarily like a dealer-related problem. Try finding a better service department in another Honda dealer.
I don't want to throw more fuel on the fire, because I do feel bad for you, but these seem to be isolated problem with your two bikes and the dealers you visit. My Ruby has over 1800 miles on it, trouble-free, in just about a year now, and has lived up to it's reputation as a Honda. I hope you two experience the same with an ATV in the near future.
I am involved in a webpage dedicated to Ford Diesels, and we have meet with both the Ford and International (who make the motor) folks at rallys we've organized. They do get frustated when the local dealers cause you grief, and you blame it on the manufacturer (i.e. Ford). They have even gone so far as to buy some dealerships and run they as Ford-owned dealers. Remember, most of your "Honda" responses are being told to you by the dealer, and may be subject to the dealer trying to limit their involvement or culpability.

I realize it is too late to help you, but on future purchases put as much on a national credit card that has a thirty day pay period. You can use that thirty days to hopefully discover any defects, then withhold payment to the credit card company if you get no satisfaction from the dealer. Get the credit card company involved in your "defective product" purchase. They have alot more horsepower with that dealer than you will have.

chitina: your right, senice i used my honda card to pay for my rubi i have this right to. On the back of my statments it says and i quote:
“If you have a problem with the quality of goods or services that you purchased with a credit card, and you have tried in good faith to correct the problem with the merchant, you may not have to pay the remaining amount due on the goods or services.” I have started a formal letter that i am going to send to honda my self with that quote imbeaded. I will post my letter for all to read when i finalize it.

I'm also thinking of starting some type of honda site that deals wiht problems of honda owners all around the world who have had such trouble getting things fixed as me and JRM have...
