Is it something you are using a bearing puller?

Can you post a photo?

Default 420 Rear Diff

Did you ever figure out what was causing your issues with your rear end? It is the pinion bearing going out. We have (4) of these and all we do is work on the rear ends. There is no way to keep the mud and water out of the rear end on these and it takes the pinion bearing out. I continue to try different things like seals, turning seals around and now I am going to try a few more things. I can't believe Honda has such a problem child for nearly 10 years when they are such a reliable machine. If anyone has any ideas or remedies to keep the water & mud from getting past the pinion seal, I would sure appreciate it!!!

I assume since this was almost 5 years ago, that he probably doesn't have it anymore. I have heard bad things about the Rancher 420 rear ends. I'm glad I never bought one. The 350 had less power but it would run forever.
