HMF is my favorite kind of pipe. A slip-on will suffice, but the new head pipe will be considerably lighter. Depends on how serious of a rider you are. for just riding around, id say get a slip-on. If you are racing, or your pockets are deep, go with the full system.

Kentong- you DO know you will need to get a better filter and have to rejet your 300 to realize any power gains with an exhaust system (or slip-on), right?

Kevin is right...HMF makes a great product at a reasonable price....but do us all a favor and make sure to get the "quiet core" insert ($19 more) if you buy an HMF, as the HMFs are too loud without them. I ran a Supertrapp system on my 300ex for many years and it was a great product/improvement...white brothers still has an equivalent I think

I have used UNI filters for years and find them to be a good quality product that lasts for several years. K&N filters flow a little more air, but require significantly more maintenance. (and are significantly more expensive)

For jet sizes, I would start out with one size larger with a slip-on and two sizes larger with a full system.
