Is there any acceptable play when it comes to axle bearings? I have some squealing noise when I go in reverse and some noise when turning at slow speeds. There is some play when lift the rear left side wheel. The play is very little, but there is play. Would this little bit of play cause the issues mentioned above? I have ordered the bearings, but wondering if this may solve the problem. I believe any play and they are bad? The Honda repair manual did not mention any specs.

Your right, shouldn't be any play in those bearings, and replacing them will likely resolve the other issues.
