03 RINCON 650
401 MILES 150 HOURs
has a power winch
5 foot steel country plow
new black itp wheels and itp tires
few scuffs on the plastic but everything is in tact and in working condition.
Claims "machine was basically used to plow a small driveway. "
owner wants no less than 3000
what do you think guys? My main reason to buy it is for snow plowing and some trail riding. The only atv I ever owned was a 90cc 6 years ago.

There's people on this forum who can put that much use on a ATV in a long weekend.
If it starts and runs good , Id say go for it.

Don,t Know anthing about that ATV,but never heard any seroius problems with a Rincon. Here are some owner tips on that Machine.
Nyroc's ATV info website
Take it for a ride make sure it runs through all of its gears (3 of them I think) and reverse. Check brakes work.
Here,s a vid on that ATV so you get to know it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e6Ni8PCA3s

$3000 seems like a good price for a machine with that low of miles if there is nothing wrong with it. We used to have a Rincon and did not really care for the transmission that much being a 3 speed. I have no idea how it would do in snow since we never used it for that. If it were me, I think I would look at a Rubicon because of the transmission. I guess that the ground clearance of the Rincon would be better for plowing snow.
For $3000, I would definitely consider it.

Plowing snow really is not that hard on a ATV, My cousin blows his driveway with a 500 4x4 Scrambler and it does not even have a low range option, the 4 wheels will just slip before the belt will smoke or slip. I have seen 2wd 300s with chains on the back wheels plowing snow fairly well.
The Rincon should be OK,Just don,t work it to the extremes like you can a 500 Rubicon or Foreman.

The Rincon has a 3 speed automatic type transmission with a torque converter. It is very similar to the auto found in cars and trucks, and is the only ATV to have this type of transmission.
They are geared pretty tall, but will generally climb or push anything fine. The tall gearing and lack of low range mainly come into play when descending really steep technical stuff. Where a Foreman or Rubicon might hold 3-4 mph on engine hold back alone, the Rincon might be doing 12 in those situations... so you have to use the brakes. Some people hate that, and some people don't mind at all. I'm in the middle in that I wish it had about a 400% reduction low range, but I feel the machine's excellent handling and suspension, and reputation for long term reliability still make it a nice ATV.
Anyway, the early ones (like this one) had one known problem. There is an oil seal on a main oil passage underneath the front cover that can leak. The resulting reduction in oil pressure can cause the transmission to slip, and/or not shift properly. Slipping would be most noticeable in 3rd at high throttle.
You will also find the machine needs to be warmed up for a few minutes in cold weather before it will shift well.
Anyway, at that price it sounds like a great deal, assuming everything works fine.
If the owner doesn't have service records, I'd recommend doing a full service. Brief run times like that (brief plowing) can allow moisture to build up in the oil.
I'd change the coolant, axle oil, engine oil and filter, service the air filter, check the valve gap, and probably change the brake fluid.
Let us know if you get it.
