Default Black oil after five minutes of riding

HEy evryone i vebeen havin problems with my oil goin balck way to quick. any ideas on hwat it could be? I was thinkin of replacin my clutch pads? Any advice would be great thanks.

Wow, that is unusual. Any other symptoms? When you drain the oil, is there any particles in it? How is the plug? How long has this been going on? Can you remember an incident that may have started it?

No offense dude but you might just have a lot of sludge and grime in your crankcase.

If the clutch has been feeling funny it could be plates. What kind of machine is it?

Also what brand oil and filter are you using? Like said before you have alot of sludge from lack of maintance.......

add one ounce of seafoam per quart of oil, run it for 30 minutes and change oil and filter, that will clean it and wont hurt it

I ride a 05 450r, it happened after i put stage 2 jet kit(basically when i noticed it).Change my oil every ride, usualy 4 hrs, k&n filters clean, gas is good just had the carb cleaned. idk wat the deal is and spectra oil used. i Just flushed it out so well see wats good, there were no particals in the oil at all.

How many hours since the last rebuild? Short skirt pistons like the 450s use allow alot more combustion products to slip into the crankcase than a more conventional style. Add to that Honda uses a smaller amount of oil. If your rings are getting worn maybe they are just letting more crap into your oil.

Does atv run good? sounds like you carb is running way to rich..... breaking oil down.IMO i would rejet back to stock and run the same amount of time and see if oil is black if is then other problems,But if it started when install jet kit then this would be an good place to start at.

I got it used from a guy, was told it only had 25 hrs on it, but who knows. ive prob ridden it bout 50 hrs since i got at least. i havent rebuilt it, whens a good time for that? it runs mint, boggs out a lil in 2nd if u shift late

You didnt mention if engine is smoking or not? Does atv have power? Im sorry But didnt you say 450r? Not 450s?
