Default 1986 Honda Fourtrax Clicking/Ticking noise

I have an '86 Honda Fourtrax 250 and it just recently started making a clicking/ticking noise in the front part of the engine. Any suggestions on how to fix this noise? I am new to working on ATV's so the more detailed the better.

Maybe its time to check your valve lash, loose rocker arms will make a metallic ticking noise while the engine is running.

On most of these atv,s with the age of atv the cam chain and tenisionor begin to have wear and tenisionor starts letting loose...

Good suggestions. I'd also check for an exhaust leak at the head, as that can sound like a tick or tap.

Check the valve gap first, though, if that hasn't been done on schedule.
