I have a few questions for you 440EX owners.

Frist, can you still run pump gas, or do you have to run race gas?

Second, how much of a difference is it from a stocker, and do you really notice it?

Third, what pipe is the best for the 440? I keep hearing so much about CURTIS SPARKS new pipe, does any one have it on their 440EX?

i made some phone calls to white bros.,wiseco,ct racing and a few others and was told anything with a compression ratio 11:1 and over on a 440 kit and you would have to run race gas.there are alot of people who will argue than you can run pump gas up to 12:1,but i'd trust what the pros advise if you want your quad to hold it's reliability. there are quite a few companies that make the kits and they come in 10:1,10.5:1,11:1,12:1,and even in13:1.i went with the IMS 10.5:1 kit with a white bros all around cam(it is wise to install a bigger cam with the 440 kit).as far as power i will let you know the difference when i get mine back from having these mods installed in a week or so!

I have a IMS 440 and you can run 93-94 octane or I mix a little bit of race gas because of the higher compression. I run the curtis sparks x-6 with spark arrestor. The 440 pulls like a banshee and hooks up great. You'll hang if not beat with the rest of the big boys out there and I'm not bs-ing.

The difference it makes is astounding, it really brings the low end power out and shoves it in your face. My work was done by Powroll and was worth every penny. I was told same thing crday98 says about the compression/race fuel issue. As to pipes, I don't know which is "best" as some make power in different places and it will depend where you want the power.

No to the pump gas, 11:1 IMS setup, Pipe: FMF Bomb and megamax(I like adjustability, and is quieter with core for Db. checks)
Huge difference, almost a completely different machine. Did all the work in my garage last summer, has held up no problems, strong power everywhere.

www.powroll.com they do a 313 and a 352 if you call them they are very easy and good to deal with. When I bought my kit it cost $465.00 but it has gone up a little now and I have done a bunch of other work since then so I have alot into my quad. But again, the bore and stroke kit alone does make a huge difference.
