THE ENGINE MOUNT BOILTS ARE TO SHORT. GO DOWN TO YOUR LOCAL SEARS HARDWARE STORE AND GET THE 8.8 PITCH BOLTS LIKE THE ONES THE AC NERFS CAME WITH. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET THEM AT LEAST 2 INCHES LONG. YOU SHOULD BE JUST FINE THEN. LET ME KNOW HOW IT TURNS OUT. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE FOOT GUARDS, YOU MAY HAVE TO CUT THEM OFF A LITTLE WHERE THE FRONT CURVES AROUND AND BOLTS IN.

Got the same question here, just got mine in last night and tried putting it on about 30 minutes ago and couldnt figure it out so i came in here to post a topic, low and behold there was one already here.

Anyway, i took off the mud guards and lined the flatside up against it. Then the problem is that the thing that is on the nerf bar (that the screw goes threw) and connects to the 400ex frame is off center. If I take it to the braket closest to the front then there is about a 3/4" gap between the peg and the nerf bar. Does anyone have pictures, i bet it would help out a lot.

DID YOU INSTALL THE SPACERS. HAVE YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO CALL MIKE TREADWAYS ON YOUR 440 KIT. AT LEAST GIVE THEM A CALL. MIKE WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. HE IS ALSO A DEALER FOR HONDAS AND SUZUKIS. HE HAS A REAL NICE SHOP WITH LOTS OF AFTERMARKET PARTS AND PIPES IN THE SHOWROOM. THEY STAND BEHIND THERE WORK AND ARE REASONABLE ON THERE PRICE.

first, tear off the black guards. thread the long bolts w/spacers into the front hole on the motor mounts. don't tighten them. then clamp the back of the nerfs to the front of the peg. MAKE SURE THE TEETH ON THE PEG ARE ABOVE THE FLAT PART OF THE NERFS. drill the pegs through the holes in the nerfs. put the 4 short bolts through and tighten them. then tighten the 2 front bolts and you're done. PUT LOC-TITE ON ALL BOLTS.they are a little hard to put on, but I like them a lot better than dg. they seem tougher from what I've seen around here.

i also have ac nerfs. don't take guards off. at the front of the foot peg there is a bolt. take it out and put the bolt and 1 spacer that came with the nerfs in the hole.dont tighten any of them until you get it all aligned.
