Which would you prefer? I can get the foreman for 2600 and the fourtrax for 3000. The guy said the foreman is all the time 4wd is the fourtrax es? Also which one would top out at a higher top speed?

 

The 400 foreman has got more torque and dual shocks on rear, lower center on gravity, yes both are full time 4wd's, the fourtrax in 2001 is called rancher, neither one made for top end speeds,IMO the rancher prolly would be 5 or 6 mph faster on top end,BUT 400 foreman got more torque,,Their are two differance machines, depends one your needs, My chioce of the two the way I need an atv would be 400 foreman.Also the foreman has an steering light also and rancher just has driving lights. the additionaal steering light help light to be were you steering and looking were you turning....

 

Is 2600 for a 97 foreman 400 a bad deal?

 

Well that is alittle high! does it look like new? check for bearings front and rear end,for being wore, check tires,brakes, shifter shaft, for drive shaft coupler is common to slip on that year, check for any noise in engine, all plastic and lights, batt good, If all these check out good! IMO it could be worth the money .Yes that alot to check BUT you would be giving top dollars for it some IMO it souldn't need anything...
