Default Rincon 680 questions

Hey guys, Just got my first four wheeler, I noticed some things on it and was wondering why the previous owner did it. On the snorkel, there is a small tube running up it, is that a crankcase breather? Also I noticed that the previous owner took the pull starter off and plugged the hole with silicone. What would be the reason for this? I'd like to have a pull starter just in case...

Thanks,
Bryan

could be- more likely a diff breather.

he probably broke the rope trying to pull it over and didn't want to spend the money to fix it. It's really not prone to taking on water under that cover...

I figured it wasn't very vulnerable to getting water in from the pull starter, but I wasn't sure. I guess I will get a new one!

How difficult is it to pull it apart and put on a new one?

Hey Guys,

Just joined the firm. I've always been a Honda guy. Just got rid of my ol' 400ex and am looking into getting a 4X4 for hunting/camping and gold panning in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Was wondering if you could give me some input/advice about the 2005 Rincon? Pros and cons. Thanks for the tips.

Not very hard- you (or anyone with minimal experience with tools) should be able to handle it- just download the manual.

Welcome to the forum-

I owned 2 rincons, an 05 650 with 400 miles on it and an 06 650 with 750 miles-

the pro's : it's a comfortable trail atv, easy to ride, stable platform, deep fenders to keep the mud off you and you can ride it all day without the tranny toasting your leg (like most cvt's do)...

the cons : (on both of my rincons)

tranny shifts funky when it's cold- needs a good warm up, no low gear, no front locking diff, drum brakes, non adjustable shocks, carb with manual choke- and it's a dog on the trails compared to other big-bore atv's the same size.

I enjoyed my rincon, it was a nice atv- but I was always missing the big-bore punch. But that's just me...

I think the fi was standard in 07 with the 680- but would have to double check that...
