I am about to purchase a 330 kit for my 300ex from FST. I was wondering if FST kits are good quality. If not what companies off the same kit and aren't to much more expensive. I just don't want to pay lots of money for a kit and have it brake down alot. Thanks.

I had good luck with FST (318 for my 250X) but my friend (366 then 395 for his 300EX) did not. You should be OK with a 330 but I wouldn't go any bigger than that. If I were you I'd try Ritter Cycle Racing (http://www.rittercycle.com/honda.htm) as Dunlap is VERY slow. I was very pleased with the work Rick Ritter did for me on my 400EX.

I've heard far too many stories about Mickey Onelap motors going BOOM!

I ordered the FST 80mm big bore kit(288cc),included: wiseco cylinder, sleeve and gaskits, for my 250x and I put it together myself. I already had high performance springs, titanium retainers, ported exhaust, etc... I had only 20 min breakin before I took it to the mx track yesterday and it ran like a champ, starts on first kick every time. But like I said I did all the work myself, except for putting in the new sleeve and boring it. If I had went with any other company I would of had to bore the case halves and then your really talking about time and money. With anything, if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself. Plus by doing it myself it only cost me about $500 total.
