I was watching my Huevos tapes again and was wondering if a 400ex or Raptor can jump "almost" as good as those totally aftermarket chassis 250R's? I am not going to be jumping like them (at all) but want somthing jumpable.

I am wanting to add a new sports-quad to the family that can be thrown around much better than my Scrambler.

My 400ex jumped really well. Then i broke an a-arm weld, so i got new a-arms coming. Shocks are stock, jumps great.

Actually, I think your scram could handle the big tabletops...but it would take a lot of guts to jump that brick over 1 foot high!!
I think it's rather the feeling you have with the machine than the abilities of the machine itself (remember the sled swap?).
Why are you questioning about stock machines? You know you won't be able to keep it stock formore than 1.258 seconds !!

Hi there you guys,
I'm just wondering where Blainville is.
I lived in Montreal for a while, in Ste.Anne-de-Bellevue for a couple of years, in Rimouski for a year and in Ste.Hyacinthe for a short while.
Rimouski would be a great spot for a quad, though I only snowmobiled there, I never had a quad.

It really doesnt matter how good the 400 (or whatever) is with jumping stock. The real handling and jumping capablitys are when you put some aftermarket shocks, and a-arms. Thats when you have a real jumper.

Blainville is 20km north of Montreal. On your map, follow the highway 15 north. and you'll see it.
It's not bad for riding, although it gets pretty swampy.

Lets say I get a Raptor with aftermarket A-arms, axle and suspension...should it handle like those high flyers in Huevos? Plus those quads just eat up the bumps.

Remeber alot depends on your suspension. if you want to do huge jumps I would suggest getting PEP or Axis also TCS are good but not as good and PEP or Axis. and get a good front end like Lobo or protrax then you should be able to handel a lot.

and a few other trick parts and then you will be spending around 10,000
