Cool 400ex rear bearings carrier

My 400ex needs a new rear bearing carrier that i just bought off amazon and am waiting for it to be shipped. Thing is one of my best freinds has this weekend off only to go riding. The carrier in it now makes a horrible grinding noise and has plenty of metal shavings flaking off. If i continue running the machine likes this will it ruin anything else such as rear swing arm or will it not matter since im getting a new one.

yeah, bad idea to go riding....you can really screw up the carrier, the axle, and the swingarm. Not to mention that it will cause your sprockets to break teeth, and if it seizes, your ride is over.

tell your bud to wait, he'll understand

Ride now and you will certainly pay later. In addition to your axle/swingarm/sprockets being at risk, you could damage your caliper/rotor as well. That stuff gets expensive in a hurry...
