Default 2003 honda 250 recon, carb issues??

I have a 2003 honda recon 4 wheeler. I thought I was having float issues with the Carb. I ordered a carb kit. Still having the same issues. Problem, when cranking the motor over fuel squirts out of the small brass tubes that lay flat on the bottom of the carb, this is where the air filter would hook up. I have triple checked that the float is shutting off and I am certain that this is not my problem. In order to make it fire and run I have to screw the idle screw? almost all the way in, it will fire and run but it revs up and down, if I give it some throttle then it cuts out and dies, like it is then starving for fuel, I have tried to adjust the only other adjusting needle that is located on the bottom of the carb, it doesn't seem to make any difference where I adjust it? I am wondering if it might be something else besides carb problems? Like valves or whatever??Please help, thank you

Default any ideas?

what causes fuel to squirt out of the back of the carb when the engine is being cranked? when the engine fires the squirting stops? no squirting while engine runs? It will actually run for a few minutes and then when it dies it takes a while for it to fire and run again? What or where if any adjustments can be made? I have adjusted everything that I THINK can be adjusted. I would be grateful for any help on this, thanks Jerry
