420 Rancher
Now that the 420 rancher has been out awhile what do you think of it? I have read at first the ES models gave people some problems. The angle sensor I think.
I would like to update now and I think this is the machine I want.
Would you stay away of the ES? I prefer the manual shift, but if I found a deal on a ES I might be interested.
Anyway thanks for your input.
I now have honda fourtrax trx300.
Any thought on the 400AT?

I had a 2008 Rancher ES. It was great. No problems with the electronic shift. I also have a 1999 Foreman ES. I do have problems with it not shifting sometimes and have to use manual shifter to get it back in sync. It did that when it was new. I wouldn't be afraid of new models with electronic shift.

I have a 2008 4x4 foot shift and it has been trouble free. Only gripe I have is that I need new tires and I am pretty much stuck with only being able to get the OEM tires for the rear due to the odd 11 inch diameter stock rims. Everyone else uses the standard 12 inch rims all around but on these Ranchers we get 12 inch up front and 11 inch out back. Because I really want an aftermarket tire (Carlisle's Dirt Commander or ITP's Terra Cross) I am stuck with buying after market rims. I have no issue with after market rims I actually prefer them (stronger and lighter) they are just expensive especially since I need to buy them in conjunction with new tires.

I ride with a 2001 450 Foreman ES, two 2005 500 Foreman ES and a 2009 420 Rancher ES all the time, I never seen the ES give them trouble.
I,d buy one, even the ones I read about that act up seem to be cheap enough to fix.
Remember ,on this site people are here to get help,so out of the one ES shift model that has problems you read of,you do not read of the fifty others running great.
