I personally like the idea of new quads coming out all the time. More to choose from and more competition gives more options for our hard earned money.

I would like to say increased competition will eventually drive down the prices of quads but kinda doubt it. It seems the best the manufacturers will do is throw in a small rebate or limited time/ low interest credit card type deals.

Don't be frustrated by new quads coming out dude. Remember, the guys buying the new bikes have to throw $ at them to get them optimized. (reference: Yamaha Forum-Any Raptor post). Eventually, they will have it all figured out and then you can upgrade and not have to go through the experimentation stage. This will save you $ in the long run. Being first on a new model bike WILL cost you $. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Frankly, I salute them and will benefit from their labors.

Ok Honda, give me a Sport 4x4 w/reverse please. (yeah, had to include it.....sorry 2FiftyX hehehehe). But please give these guys their 650EX also.

Regards,

MrMan

Gabe,

I'm sorry that you've taken me all wrong. I love to ride and if I just wanted the fastest quad, I'd still have my Banshee and would have just modded more. What I would have hoped for you to get out it is that I am all for Hondas. Prior to my Banshee and Raptor, that's all I've ever owned. I think that they make the most reliable ATV as a whole. The problem was that they didn't offer something that I wanted. When I got back into quads, I got the Banshee. I knew that for what I did with an ATV, a 4-stroke would really be the best for me. Despite the superior handling of the 400ex, going from a Banshee to the lesser powered 400 would have took a lot of fun out of it for me, so I bought the Raptor since it had decent handling and really good power. If Honda comes back with a machine with great handling and more of a robust power package, I'd be thrilled.

NO! F' THAT! There will be NO Sport 4x4 w/reverse for YOU MrMan! ...lol...wise A$$. I dought that will we see a 650ex anytime soon either. I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time. hehe...

I think that if they start making big advancements and coming out with new quads ever so often that it will be a VERY good thing for our sport. It will mean that there is more interest being generated which means more people are riding and being publically accepted more which means less restrictions on where to ride and more grants for trails etc...

I agree with you 2fiftyx. I cant see Honda coming out with a 650ex when their 400's are selling like hotcakes.

If Honda is selling every 400EX they make, why not come out with bigger and better models? They sure aren't going to make any more sport quads if the 400EX isn't selling!

The way Honda sees it is like this... well we sell every 300EX and 400EX that we make, why not expand the sport line in a couple different directions and sell even more? Hence, that is why the 250EX is out and pretty soon I am confident that a 650EX will be released.

I, too, have heard from a dealer that Honda is thinking about slipping in a XR650R engine-variant into a bigger chassis. Here is to hoping that they do!
