My father was at a very large volume Honda dealer today, supposedly the largest in the US. The dealer told him that the inside rumor was that Honda's major sales push right now is because they have some totally new bikes and quads on the way for this spring. Does anyone think there's a chance that there will be an updated 400ex or an even bigger sport quad?

I'm sick of these stupid quad wars. All this who can build the biggest and fastest quad on the planet sucks! It's starting to become like computers, as soon as you buy the latest one, it's outdated in a few months. I haven't even had my 400 for a year, and there's talk about a newer machine from Honda?
IF Honda makes a 650EX by next summer, I'm getting out of this sport. I for one don't have the money(or the desire)to keep up this nonsense!

You do know that you could just sell your 400EX? Anyway this competition is a very good thing, without competition there isnt progress ya know.

What have you heard about the Honda's, I've been getting reay to put my name down for a new
Raptor, but I'd rather have a Honda if something cool is coming out.

Thanks,

I think the "Quad War" is a good thing and a bad thing. It is good because it keeps competition up, and it is fun to observe. It is a bad thing, because most people feel that their present quad is too little, or too weak. So what?? If you are having fun riding it, and you like the machine, that is all that matters. I think that pretty soon, the quad war will end. How big can they go, and still sell the machines? I feel/hope that the Big Names will lean towards making the 350 to 500 cc range more powerful, lighter, and better.

Sounds to me that you don't actually like riding, but more that you like the "prestige" of having the biggest & baddest....

I think that's a big problem with these forums & ATV riders in general.

Why not continue to ride what you have? It won't instantly become a lesser machine just because something different is available.

Choices are good. We went thru 10 years of no choices and a dying sport, personally I'm sick of no choices... But that doesn't mean I'll immediately sell my 400EX if something new does come out.

DevRay,

Could you please shorten your signature? This site is slow enough, and there is no sense in loading blank lines, as your signature does. Not trying to upset you, just an observation.

THANKS!

I have been told numorous times that their utilities will slowly be getting 2wd/4wd on the same machine. I have heard that the 2002 Ranchers will be the first.

400exrydr,
You should be ashamed to compare computers and ATVs!!! I use computers although I don't like them...and you have to change because software won't work anymore.
How about a quad? Don't you see people on a Recon having fun? I have a banshee (oh nooooo, I don't have the latest most expensive biggest quad!!) and have a blast, and don't plan on changing it.
If you stop riding because you can not afford the biggest quad (while you already own a nice machine)...then you're really stupid, you can't like riding...plain stupid. I hate to say this, but it really looks like you only bought your ex to say "hey look, I got a sports quad!! Do you park it in your dining room, ot in your driveway? On the driveway, more people will see it. But when you ride, no one will notice it...mmmh, leave it on the driveway, with written "I have a new Honda sports quad (they're more expensive)".

Can't you get your butt on it, ride and have fun. Get a 650 sticker and ride! Do you really need people to explain that to you?

This makes me mad!
