Default mobil 10w40 for honda recon

is mobil 10w40 oil good for my honda recon 250?

As long as it's not energy conserving oil it will be fine. Look on the bottle and it will say if it's energy conserving or not.

As long as it's 10w40 motorcycle oil you should be OK, I would not advise using 10W40 automotive oil because it can plug up the fiber disc in your clutches and cause them to slip. You can also use 15w40 diesel oil like mobil or shell rotella because diesel oil does not have friction modifiers.
