450r, HELP!

Exclamation 450r, HELP!

I'm looking at a 450r and i dont know about it. Guys selling at a low price,
he says you can roll start it,

says kickstart bearings need replaced, he said their $5 apeice, and it needs 2.

okay, 1st of all, how does he know they need replacing? asked him and all i heard was "pshhhhhht-then-pshhhhhhhhht-crank-phshhhhhhht" sort of unclear, so asking yall.

how much of a job will this be?

whats gonna happen if i dont?

Well I dont know a lot about the 450r so I went to bike bandit and pulled up the diagram for the kick start. I dont see how the bearings could make it not function, imho.

could it possibally crack the case or something with bad bearings?

if its a good price i would get it anyway iv had a lot of 4wheelers and my 450r is my pride and joy

So have you tried using the kickstart? It could be as simple as a spring, or it could be the gear is wore down, but I find that unlikely. Even my 1980 Yamaha XS 400 still has a good kickstart gear, but the spring that engages it is another story.

only reason im even looking at it is because its already at a deal of a price
got to come up with the money now... short notice to sell mine

I've my 450R since it was new (Feb. 2004) and have never had an issue with the kick starter bearing. What bearings is he refering to, the bearings in the side case? Shoulkd be an easy replacement, just remove the side case.
What it the price of this "good deal?"
