I have a 250x rolling frame laying around . I am thinking of putting a 200x engine in it . Any thoughts or ideas . I want to build it for my daughter who will be 12 this year . She has been riding a Badger 80 . I want her to learn to use a clutch . I am pretty sure it will fit and I dont think it will be too fast . I think they are 14 to 15 horse stock .

You will probably have to fab up motor mounts, make sure the sprockets are lined up correctly, and possibly have to do some work on a head pipe to fit the quad frame. Way more radical motors have been put into quads, the 350X into a 250/300 ex frame was pretty popular for a while, so I don't see why a 200x motor wouldnt be able to be bolted in with a little rework.

I have a 350x/250x conversion . Its the 2nd one I have built . I wanted to try something else . I didnt know how tall the 200x engine is that would be my only concern . I can make the sprockets line up no problem and making motor mounts shouldnt be a problem . I also have a 1991 250x with a 1984 125m atc engine . Its a real turd the badger 80 will smoke it but it will cruise in the woods all day and the electric start and hi low range make it fun to ride . It can climb hills slow and pulls like a tractor . I was thinking the 200x would be a good choice because you can buy them cheap and it's a manual shift .
