RUBICON unstoppable????
#11
This has got to be a joke, right? Nobody could post something like this and be serious about it.
If you really think it's unstoppable, I'd love for you to come for a ride with us. We'd get you stuck, I can garuntee that.

I rode with a ruby today(and 13 other bikes)This guy wouldent shut up about how he NEVER got stuck. It's the baddest ,meanest, yack, yack, yack.Even when I said "you should get a winch"he said ...I DONT NEED ONE,I WONT GET STUCK,The Ruby is unstoppable.OK pal whatever, lets ride.
I'm sure everyone can see where I'm headed with this, right?ok so before I pull him out of the mud I made him stand on his seat and and yell" I'M STUCK".Next time I'll make him say POLARIS RULES and I dont have a winch some body pull me out.heh heh hee
If your not getting stuck you are AVOIDING it,I get stuck and I love it.Pulling out, winching out, slingging mud everywhere, not being able to tell what kind of bike it is because of all the mud on it.Thats what it's all about,Not some ride in the park on sunday afternoon wearing a pink or green neon outfit that say's Polaris honda yammy
Get out ,have fun ,GET STUCK

Do I know about that....heck yeah I've sunk mine. Were you in water? If so then it either came in the crankcase breather or the air intake. If you got water in the engine be sure to check out the other fluids. This is advice that I posted in another topic:
"Things to do on the spot before you move it:
1. Drain the airbox.
2. Drain the oil.
3. Pull the plug (key in off position) and use the pull rope to force water off of the piston.
4. Drain the carb.
5. Stand it up on end to drain the muffler.
Things to do (BEFORE FIRING IT UP):
1. Check the rear diff oil and make sure there is no water in it.
2. Check the front diff oil and make sure there is no water in it.
3. Check the radiator overflow bottle and make sure the fluid is not dirty.
4. Check the radiator fluid level.
5. Drain the oil. Change it until it comes out clean. (Mine took 2 changes to come out clean but I did 5 for good measure)
6. Take off the carb and clean it out.
7. Clean out all the drum brakes.
8. Clean off the air filter.
In your note you said he sunk it. Define sunk it. If he truely went under with it and filled the airbox then there IS water in the oil. With each stroke of the motor the crankcase breather takes a gulp of air like it is truely "breathing". This can be seen if you disconnect it and hold it while the engine is on. So on that last stroke when he was under it would of sucked in some water. Since the Rubicon uses oil for its transmission you want to be 100% sure that there is no water in the tranny."

I have a Ruby and love it. But do you guys think its geared low enough? I mainly use mine on the farm its gets quit the work out. I've been cutting brush along ditch banks this winter, and have been using my Ruby and Polaris to pull out the brush. I've had the Ruby to were I could'nt spin at all, not enough power to spin out. In mud it dosn't take as much power to spin then on dry or hard packed dirt. Just thought I'd see what you guys were thinking. My Polaris has no problems but its the 2-stroke 400 Explorer nothing out their can touch that.

Stomper, your comment on the ruby being geared low enough is one Ive been wondering about also. This is where I love my 450 because the low end power is so good.Does anyone have a 450 & ruby to give a comparison on low end power.
