I'd get the 300ex they are bigger, comfortable, better suspension and highly modifyable, and for them being the same speed i highlt doubt that is true

the 300ex will blow the 250 away. Id suggest the 300 since your a little to big for the 250.

i'll put all my stock parts back on and race any 250ex, a clone recon vs. a 300ex that will never be a tough race

A 250ex isn't a clone recon it just has a modified recon motor and if we race we'll probally be side by side will probally be side by side in every race or drag race.

We own each. The 300 is way more bike than the 250 (suspension, power, handling, etc.). The 250 is for kids/beginners, where the 300 is a VERY capable sport bike! I am 5'6" and the 300 is just marginal for me in terms of size. Spend a lot of time sitting on a 300 before you buy one, to be sure it isn't to small. I would suggest the 400 for someone at your size and weight!!
