Default 1998 honda trx 250 recon

I have a trx 250 recon 1998 model. I am having a problem when I give it gas when its in gear it wants to bogg down and cuts off. It runs fine in neutral and when its cold but once it warms up it has the problem. I have cleaned the carb about 4 times now it soaked over night in seafoam, I have installed a inline fuel filter and changed all vaccum lines and fuel lines. I recently read something about maybe adjusting the valves if this will help please let me know. Thanks Anthony

You say it runs fine cold but not when it's warm? I have to think it's the carb. The new one will probably solve the problem but you probably didn't need a new one. Carbs have lots of small ports in them that soaking won't clean. You need to clean those ports with small wires etc. And compressed air. It could also be a coil breaking down when it's warm. But, I'm betting that a new carb will do the trick. Let me know what happens. I have a 99 Recon.

the new carb didnt do it and the coil is not the problem when its in neutral its fine I can rev it as high as I want. but in gear its a problem. from the looks of it its losing spark in gear at higher rpms so im going to put a new cdi box on it and see if that fixes it.

CDI is the next thing I was gonna suggest. Hopefully that's it because they are $$$ and you can't return them.

The cdi box did it. In neutral it ran fine but in gear when you reved it about half way up the fire quit. But the new carb has helped also.
