Are you looking for a pre-assembled motor or do you plan on piecing it together yourself?

I am not sure what is wrong with it. The guy i got it from said it quit running on him so he then thought he would take it apart and try to fix it. well needless to say the top of the engine has been off of the quad for about 2 years. I can see some rust on the crank but not sure what else it would need

If you could find somebody reputable it would be cheaper to rebuild the existing motor. You should be able to get that done for less than a $1000. If you were going to replace it a pre-assembled crate motor would be the way to go. By the time you payed the shipping and cost of individual parts you would have way too much invested. That is if you can pony up the cost of a crate motor all at once.

A company out of Indiana sells remanufactured engines for all Honda atvs. Send them your engine core and they send you a complete engine ready to put in at a really competitive price and all engines come with a 6 month warranty. Great tech and customer service. Saves money and time. They have dealer programs for dealers and other shops. Thought this might be some useful information. Email wolfbrosmotorsports@yahoo.com.
