Hi, I'm a new ATV'er. I purchased a used Honda Foreman ES in order to move heavier objects around my business, among other things. I purchased a 5,000 lb winch kit for it from Harbor Freight, and I'm curious what would be the easiest way to install it? They also offered a mount kit but it looked like it hooked up to the rear via a hitch. I think I've seen ATV winches mounted to the front of ATV's, kind of concealed under the "hood". I wanted to ask you guys first because my experience is very limited compared to yours. Thanks

 

they make mounting plates that your gona have to buy and roller bars but its not easy best thing i can tell you get a package off eather amizon or ebay cus thats were i got mine and your gona have to do some wireing to there not easy by no means but there great and 5000 is way to much for a forman go with 3 max 4 or you may rip the front right off your foreman just saying i got a 3000 on my rancher and it will pull my rancher befor it will break so its all on you

 

What type/brand of mounting kit should I look for, just one that's made for Foreman ES? Does it include all necessary items?

 

you have to buy the mounting kit for your atv and the winch that you buy not all winches have the same mounting points i went to high lifter it seems to be working miracles for me and it will break everything down for you and even get you the proper mounts if you get a package for your atv ebay is good but make sure you read what it includes in the package cus you want the mount and the winch with every thing also try amazon they have good deals to and same packages this winch is actualy rated for over 8000 pounds check this out its all a matter on what you want and how you want thats just one example on the right it tells you universal recever mount under related items
