2001 Fourtrax pull starter engaging while running?
#1
Hi All,
Brand new to the forums! (First post).
I tried searching the threads, but couldn't find an answer for this.
I just picked up a 2001 Honda Fourtrax 350 4x4. When the engine is runnnig, from time to time it seems like the pull starter is engaging just slightly. You can hear a metal on metal sound and if you put your hand on the piece of metal that houses the pull-starter, it is rattling and/or vibrating.
When it's not happening, I can duplicate the problem by pulling on the cord slightly while the engine is running so this is why I think it has something to do with the pull starter.
It doesn't seem to affect the performance or anything, but definitely doesn't sound good!
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you solve it?
Thanks in advance!!
