i have a 250 honda utility and when me and my friends race i always beat them but when i speed shift it it revs loudly at first and then takes off. i thought it might be the clutch plates but it doesnt do it when it is goin up a hill at low rpm. what could this be?

You always win on a 250 utility quad? Your friends should be able to ride three-up on a dead horse and still make it a neck and neck race against that thing!

haha thats a good one. its suprisingly fast for an 86 250. id say it runs around 60. it runs just as fast as my friends 00 300 honda and a cop clocked him at 65. but all u guys will be like no way and yea if it was on a truck and i really dont care. u dont have to beleive me. and does ur recon do it when its at low rpm going up a hill or something?

do you let off the gas when you're shifting... that's what it sounds like to me.
