Unhappy 2006 Honda TRX300EX overflow problem

I have a 2006 Honda TRX300EX that is mostly stock. ATV wasn't running properly so i took the carb apart and when i put it back together the quad was running, however gas was pouring out of the overflow tube. When i would take the choke off it would die out. I know why the ATV wasn't starting and running cleanly now, but i don't know why the gas is coming out of the overflow. Did i do something wrong putting it back together or is it another issue? Thank you very much!

I am having the same issue on my 2000 Rancher....broke down carb cleaned out real good. ATV now running fine but fuel pours out the overflow. I saw a couple of posts that said to check the float level....how do you do that? I replaced my float needle so the level may be the only thing left to check, just not sure how.

Need to get the service book and look at it,the fuel is coming from somewhere ,just take your time, no quick fix good luck, Dave, Long Beach, CA.
