Well I have put about 10hrs on my 400 and I have apparently bent my axle!!! I don't know if this is the norm for the 400 or if Hondas just have weak axles or what but I need some advice. If the axle is bent as bad as I think I will probably will get a new one. A guy at a local shp said he could probably get it pretty straight, but I figure it will just bend again. So if I get a new one should I get a Lonestar or a Dura-blue. If anyone else has had this problem on any atv please let me know what you guys think.

How did it get bent? Did you hit something hard? Jump it hard? Or was it just in the normal course of riding?

Did you hit something? I've still got my stock axle, it is still straight. I put a Dura Blue X-33 on for some extra width and I snapped it off within one hour. I was ramping WAY more hardcore on my stock axle and it is great, just a wee bit narrow. I am running a DuraBlue Eliminator now, it hasn't bent or broken, yet.

Honda won't warranty it? I would ask about warranty replacement. If you didn't crash, or hit something, that sounds like a defect.

I guess I should have said more, no I didn't wreck, I've never had it more than 3' off the ground. It may have happened while trying to get up on some big logs or rocks but I would'nt think so it's nothing I did'nt do on my 300 when I had it. Seems kinda strange to me, I just hope it isn't somthing that will keep happening. I may just ride it the way it is its not real noticible unless I ride on a hard flat surface.

If your looking to replace it with another stock axle check out e-Bay. I say a couple of stock axles sell for under $100.00. This was a couple of weeks ago, I've seen 3 in the past month.

Hmmm..

Something's not right here. The EX axle is exceptionally strong. Take a look at the pics on my webpage. I know of several stock axle'd EX's that have been put thru similar abuse as well. In fact, the stock axle holds up a lot better than a lot of the aftermarket axles.

How much do you weigh? Did you land any of those jumps really badly, like straight up and down on the back wheels?

The EX axle will not bend unless severely abused by really bad landings, an impact, or someone significantly over the weight limit.

I wouldn't ride with a bent alxe, more problems, and alot more money if your axle carrier goes out. I had a durablue(eliminator) axle on my 250r and never had a problem.

I haven't really had any bad landings and like I said I haven't hit any big jumps at all. I do weigh about 255 but I can't imagine this is the problem since I haven't really jumped it yet.

Are you positive your axle is bent? Could it just be a wheel? This does not sound right to me.

You should contact your dealer, and make sure they didn't install a Raptor axle on your 400ex by accident! LOL (Just a joke!)
